One of the hidden treasures of South London is 100 years old in July. The subway is in fact….rollof drums…. the first reinforced concrete subway in THE WORLD. YEEEES! Cause for celebration indeed. The subway has a lovely photo mural running the length of it showing local people and scenes with some nifty historic references cunningly hidden away.
Unique artwork had been placed in the underpass at Norwood Junction railway station, featuring images of historical figures, local school children and landmark buildings.
‘THE LONG WAY HOME’……….artwork by LIANE LANG……..will form part of our UNDERGROUND SOUTH NORWOOD TOUR

The 180-metre artwork by LIANE LANG depicts two journeys from one side of the station to the other and is entitled THE LONG WAY HOME
Well worth a trip in itself but when you chuck the famous CLOCKTOWER in as you exit northside why would you ever want to procede anywhere else?
