A big well done to People for Portland Road, and especially John Hickman and Ken Baker for arranged the plaque and its unveiling, to commemorate the Jolly Sailor, being the oldest public house in South Norwood. Kevin Day opened the proceedings, and the Jolly Sailor provided great hospitality, wine and a great barbeque – Thank you Han and family.
You should pop into the Jolly Sailor if you are in South Norwood, not only is it a really friendly place to drink, but there are some wonderful things to look at in the garden.
It was also a good day for us, SNTB, chatting to various members of the community, a lot of people had actually heard of us; bridges were built and opportunities discussed – a Jolly day was had by all.
