Radio 4 used to phone me up becauseI was listed as their Pickles expert on the basis of a piece I did in Issue 8 of TotalFootball.

 

I also launched the campaign for a statue of Pickles to be erected outside the new Wembley and introduced the Pickles-ometer in TF. We invited readers to send us money or valuables to fund the statue campaign. The only person who sent us anything was Sepp Blatter who gave us a replica of the World Cup Trophy to auction.

 

I donated it to a fundraiser for Great Ormond Street.
