Cycle speedway took off as a sport after ww2 when cycle teams raced on dirt tracks often on old bomb sites with gearless bikes. Norwood seems to have had four differnet teams but maybe some were just a name change. We know that NORWOOD INVADERS raced round NORWOOD LAKE – but not on the existing circular path. Be glad to hear any memories people have of the teams.
