Another fantastic discovery by our historians. RAYMOND CHANDLER – the writer of the PHILLIP MARLOWE private eye books – was born at 110 AUCKLAND ROAD right near to South Norwood Lake. Chandler was the originator of the gumshoe hard boiled private detective novel. We will be announcing a whole number of Chandler related events next year.
So in CONAN DOYLE and RAYMOND CHANDLER we have two of the greatest detective writers ever!
