Norwood  Junction station will soon have more blue plaques than any other station in the UK – FACT
Indeed it may have the most blue plaques already. Later this year PEOPLE FOR PORTLAND ROAD will be unveiling a blue plaque on the railway bridge over Portland Road commemorating the totally fantabulous ATMOSPHERIC RAILWAY  to complement the one placed on THE JOLLY SAILOR IN 2012 – the oldest pub in South Norwood and the original  name of the station. Add to these two the two blue plaques at either end of the subway recording the first reinforced concrete subway in the world and we have FOUR BLUE  PLAQUES. We doubt any station in the UK can beat that. If not SNTB will unveil a blue plaque on the station commemorating the fact it hat it has  the most blue plaques – which will bring it to FIVE.  FACT
