I don’t think assassinnation was what JFK had in mind when he put out the speech but I’m sure he would have put his full support behind our sensible project:
Crystal Palace Transition Town and South Norwood Tourist Board will be back in the Sensible Garden South Norwood on Wednesday night from 6.30pm. Bring gardening gloves and shovels or spades. We should have a delivery of woodchip coming tonight (Monday) and Calum Mason of Winkworths is very kindly donating some for sale posts for us to finish
our railings. We will be clearing the path, laying woodchip, finishing our railings, planting another bed and maybe applying a coat of
undercoat to one of the benches or just bring your thoughts of what else we could do at the Garden and help us with some ideas on the planting side. We will be returning to the Garden on Sunday from 1pm.
Any help, even if its just for 20 mins, all contributes to making the area a fantastic gateway to South Norwood.
I have politely asked Steve Reed MP as to what backing himself or the council can do to prevent any more fly-tipping.
HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE FLY TIPPING? PERHAPS IF WE HAD SINGING NUNS WE WOULD KNOW!
Dear Jason,
I’ll be glad to help with the Captain Sensible project again soon, but Wednesday is a bit difficult as we have a SNAF committee meeting!
Speaking of Captain Sensible and SNAF, we certainly could use your support at SNAF and the Save the David Lean Campaign for our screening of Basically, Johnny Moped next week! I’m attaching a Press release we produced (which in itself would make a good post, I think) and a longer version we did for People for Portland Road members: do you think that you could do a posting for us? I’ll include a couple of photos and the PPR mailshot in case they are useful.
I expect you have seen the Inside Croydon coverage.
Incidentally, it would be helpful if you could include a link to the SNAF on-line programme at http://www.peopleforportlandroad.org.uk/images/online_program_snaf_2014.pdf I have attached a revised up-to-date copy of the on-line programme too which you can pass on if you wish.
I also include a general press release about SNAF to help if you are thinking of doing a general posting about the festival, or the quiz in particular.
All the best,
Bernard
