We aimed high and promised we would bring the world cup to South Norwood in 2016 to celebrate 50 years of Pickles amazing discovery with !Pickles!-Fest 2016, now we are locked in tough negotiations with Crystal Palace Football club, Steve O’Connell and the FA, regarding visas, travel insurance, diplomatic immunity etc (with no brown envelopes in sight) to ensure the safety of the trophy in the People’s Republic of South Norwood.
For those who love the drama of transfer day deadlines, SNTB will keep you informed of our progress – we did remind people that the Jules Rimet Trophy was stolen under the watchful eye of the FA, and it took a dog from South Norwood to save the day. 1966 is a key year in the footballing calendar but th trophy would have never been lifted if it wasn’t for our own Pickles.
