Whilst George Osborne is pleased that Picklesfest is distracting attention away from his sheer incompetence, there are other things being planned in the area that should also be highlighted.
SNTB will always try to inform everyone of events that have a true spirit of celebrating our history, heritage and community, however hidden agenda’s and anything encouraging the gentrification of South Norwood are not welcome. South Norwood has a wonderful diverse and mixed community; whilst not the wealthiest area in monetary terms, it’s second to none for its community spirit and the wonderful varied stories that people have reminiscing about growing up in this area.
This leads us to the point of the post:
HiI am the director of Kindred Theatre and we’re running a storytelling event at Stanley Halls on 14th April. It’s an opportunity for people to tell their real life stories in a social and relaxed environment. Real stories from real people. It would be great to promote this event through the South Norwood Tourist Board website and Facebook page if you felt it was appropriate. Here are a couple of links which explain more about the event;I am a resident of South Norwood which is why I particularly wanting to run this event at Stanley Halls. The aim is for it to be a regular event.I hope you can help out and that it interests you and if you have any questions I’d be very happy to answer them.Best wishes.Chris HallamCompany: www.kindredtheatre.co.ukTwitter: @kindred_theatre
Sounds like a wonderful idea, cultural history is just as important as history based on specific major events, SNTB may even get a mention in 20 years or so!
Good Luck
