Don’t worry folks, we still meet at Harrington Road Tram Stop at 2pm; the poet will still be there, Endurance will still be there, our loving couples will still be there, the tea dance at the Albert will still be there and most of all the spirit of the community will still be there.
Croydon Council can ignore the rubbish and the fly tipping issue in our area for so long, but united we will make ourselves heard. If the area isn’t clear by tomorrow SNTB do have an alternative plan that doesn’t affect the above, and the show will go on.
However in the next few weeks, we will be asking your support to highlight our rubbish issue in South Norwood. ‘Don’t Mess with Croydon’ – what about ‘Don’t Fuck with South Norwood’.
Sad about the rubbish but great that the show is still going on,Ethel

I emailed all our councillors, Steve Reed and Gavin Barwell today about this. Here’s an excerpt from the email I received from Paul Scott (councillor), Gavin replied offering to meet me. No word from Steve Reed as of yet……and this is the third email I have sent him in a month – I’m yet to receive a reply to any of them:
Paul Scott:
The main problem with Love lane Green is that it was sold off when the GLA was closed down by Margaret Thatcher. It was auctioned off the property developers who have been trying to build housing on it ever since and because they have been refused permission they have allowed to the land to fall into this state to try to wear down local opposition. Local residents want the land re-instated as their local park.
I will try to get this latest mess cleared tomorrow. Would you believe it has been much worse! We did a residents clean-up day there a while back.
