2016 will mark the 50th anniversary of both the WORLD CUP coming to South Norwood and our subsequent winning of the trophy found by local hero PICKLES. The anniversary of our only world cup win will be a huge event and here at the SNTB we’llbe making sure that PICKLES is not left out. We will be organising a whole series of events which will bring worldwide interest to South Norwood.
1. We will be ssking FIFA for the WORLD CUP to be returned to the area for the day to mark Pickles find at ST.VALERY on Beulah Hill
2. We will fundraising for a statue of Pickles outside Norwood Junction station.
3. We will organise a play writing competition bringing together our two local heros PICKLES and SHRLOCK HOLMES. The mystery of who stole the cup and Pickles suspicious death have never been solved so our play will be ‘SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE WORLD CUPMYSTERY’ which will provide the answer.
This will be aonce in a lifetime chance to promote South Norwood so let’s have your ideas.
